The 3-month summer course in creative and visual skills development is designed for those who are currently choosing their future profession and plan to work in management, the creative industry, or the visual field. This course aims to provide students with basic preparation so they can achieve success in their desired field.

The course is built on theoretical material essential for creative industries and management and is focused on the development of practical skills.

Over the course of 3 months, participants will meet with more than 20 leading professionals from various fields and discuss practical case studies with them.

Founder and director of the Book Art Center Tbilisi, Co-founder Diogene Publishers, one of the first independent publishing houses in Georgia, One of the organizers of the first Georgian children’s book and children’s book illustration contest, Initiator of founding the Georgian Publisher’s Association, Curator of the Georgian collective stand at the Frankfurt Book Fair, Professor of Graphic Design, Typography, Book Design, Children’s Book Illustration at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, the Tbilisi Free University, and the International Design School of the Georgian Technical University, Founder of Virgam Virtual Publishers – an informal creative student program which supported and supervised the creation of more than 100 picture books, photo books, and artist books by young book artists, illustrators and photographers, Founder of the Book Art Center Tbilisi – a non-governmental institution committed to the development of book art, book design, and book illustration in Georgia and internationally, For its contribution to Georgian children’s illustration, the Book Art Center Tbilisi was twice nominated from Georgia for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award, Chief curator of the Tbilisi Book Days international festival for book art and design, Curator of numerous international exhibitions of children’s book Illustration, Founder of 1/16 – a monthly series of photo- and artbooks by prominent Georgian artists and photographers.

- Design Principles – The fundamental principles of design and their practical applications

Creativity

- Creative Skills – How to develop creative skills and use them when working on new ideas

- Strategy – How to create a creative strategy to achieve business goals

- Thinking Methods and Tools – Thinking techniques that support idea generation and problem-solving

- Design Thinking – An approach to design that develops user-centered methodologies

- Innovation Design – How to create new, innovative concepts

- Ideation – Generating and developing creative ideas and concepts

- Creative Sessions – Seminars and group work formats that encourage collaborative creativity

- Art Direction – Leading creative projects and implementing visual directions

- Copy and Working with Text – How to prepare effective copy and text for visual concepts

Communication

- Communication Strategy – How to create a strong communication strategy

- Brand Strategy – Creating a brand and strategy that helps build the brand image

- Marketing Fundamentals – The basic principles of marketing and their application in creative industries

- Digital Communication – How to use digital platforms and tools to reach your target audience

Classes will be held 4 times a week for 2 hours each. The course duration is 3 months, totaling 60 hours.
