At the Design Institute, we are proud to have become a signatory of the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs). WEPs is a global initiative created by UN Women and the UN Global Compact, aimed at promoting gender equality and the empowerment of women in the workplace, business, and society. As a design-focused educational institution, we believe that inclusive thinking plays a vital role in creating meaningful and valuable creative work. By joining WEPs, the Institute once again reaffirms its commitment to fostering an environment where equal opportunity, respect, and non-discriminatory representation are not merely aspirational values, but lived realities.

What WEPs Means to Us

Joining the community of WEPs signatories is a significant responsibility for the Design Institute. We commit and pledge to:

  • Promote gender equality and inclusive leadership at all levels of the organization
  • Ensure equal access to education, professional development, and creative opportunities
  • Challenge bias and stereotypes in design education and practice
  • Create a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment
  • Approach design as a tool for social impact and positive change

Our Values in Practice

Through the Design Institute’s programs, courses, partnerships, and public initiatives, we will continue to promote the values of equality, diversity, and inclusion, ensuring that the work of future designers is shaped with greater responsibility, ethics, and awareness.

Design shapes the world we live in. By amplifying diverse voices in design education, we contribute to building a more inclusive future.
